Gil Inoach Shawit

is the first Pamuk (governor) of the Awajún Territorial Autonomous Government (GTAA). Previously, he served as president of the Interethnic Association for the Development of the Peruvian Jungle (AIDESEP) and as an advisor to the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA). In 2021, he published Between Dependency and Freedom: Always Awajún.
